Buena Park- The Corona virus has changed our life upside down. So many things have changed. Just like our lives changed, the corona virus also changed too. Now there is a new virus called omicron. Omicron is spreading very quickly.

According to CDC.gov, “As of December 20, 2021, Omicron has been detected in most states and territories and is rapidly increasing the proportion of COVID-19 cases it is causing.”

They also stated that, “CDC has been collaborating with global public health and industry partners to learn about Omicron, as we continue to monitor its course. We don’t yet know how easily it spreads, the severity of illness it causes, or how well available vaccines and medications work against it. The Omicron variant likely will spread more easily than the original SARS-CoV-2 virus and how easily Omicron spreads compared to Delta remains unknown. CDC expects that anyone with Omicron infection can spread the virus to others, even if they are vaccinated or don’t have symptoms.” People who are fully vaccinated can also catch Omicron. However it is less likely to get hospitalization and die from it when you have been vaccinated. So the CDC recommended that anyone over the age of 5 should get vaccinated in order to keep yourself from getting very ill from Omicron.

Even after a long fight between COVID and humans we can’t really say that things are getting better then it was. So we have to still wear our masks and social distance ourselves when we catch Omicron.
