Camping is one way you can spend quality time with your family and friends outside. Spending time outdoors in nature can help in stress reduction, better sleep-quality, improved mental health, and more. Since the 1970’s, June has been celebrated as National Camping Month to increase outdoor activities, especially among the youths.

As the 2021-2022 school year is coming to an end, summer is a great time to go camping with your close friends and family. Especially in the past couple years, we were stuck at home, not being able to travel anywhere. Most of us were in bed, watching our phones 24/7. As COVID-19 is slowing down, more camping sites are opening back up.

Here are some camping sites that you can go to this summer.

  1. Yosemite Creek Campground – Yosemite National Park
  2. Jumbo Rocks Campground – Joshua Tree National Park
  3. Sentinel Campground – Kings Canyon National Park

If you are looking for places you can go without reservation, there is:

  1. Buckhorn Campground
  2. Holcomb Valley Campground
  3. Oak Flats Campground

You can go to these places without having to worry about booking a spot or waiting for camping-sites that are full.

These are just a couple of the camping grounds that you can visit this summer. There are different varieties of places you can go camping such as forestsb , beaches, mountains, and more.

Next, tools and supplies are essential when you go camping. As you don’t have the supplies you do at home, it is important you bring all the supplies necessary. For example, you will need clothes, food, flashlights, tents, first-aid kits, camping chairs, etc. Make sure you bring supplies depending on how long your trip will be. You want to make sure you don’t bring too much or too little.

Also, if you are going camping to flammable places like forests, make sure you are prepared and aware of wildfires. Wildfires are very common during camping and it is important to bring tools such as fire extinguishers.

Camping helps us stay away from electronics even for just a moment and is a time to relax and spend more time in nature. It is helpful as it can overall improve our health in several different ways. Get your family and start making camping plans for this summer!
